Printing Tips for Free Color by Number Pages

All our free pages are US Letter PDFs (8.5×11 in) that also print well on A4. A few settings make a real difference.
Printer settings
- Choose Fit to page or Scale to fit so nothing is cut off on A4.
- Print in black and white for the puzzle page. Only the answer page (page 2) uses color, and you can skip printing it.
- Use the normal or high quality setting so the small codes stay sharp.
Paper
- Regular printer paper works for pencils and most water-based markers.
- Heavier paper or light cardstock is best for alcohol markers and for pages you want to frame.
- Always slip a spare sheet under the page when you use markers.
Print a few copies
Coloring the same picture twice with a different palette is surprisingly fun, and it is great for coloring together with family.
Printing at a shop or library
Download the PDF to your phone and print it at a copy shop or library. Ask for black and white, single sided.
